Ryanair abandons flights from Northern Ireland

The action will come just three months after the airline recommenced flights from Belfast Town after an absence of eleven yrs. 

Ryanair operates routes to Malaga, Alicante, Krakow, Warsaw, Gdansk and Milan from Belfast Global. 

A spokesman for the airport reported: “It is disappointing that Ryanair has now made a decision to withdraw functions from the overall Northern Ireland industry at the close of Oct, owning variously experienced a existence in all three community airports in the latest yrs.

“It has been a difficult period of time for aviation and a time when people will need some stability and religion in the Northern Ireland air transport network.”

Previously on Tuesday, chief govt Michael O’Leary reported the airline was set to hit its focus on of carrying in between 90m and 100m passengers for the year to March 2021. It flew 149m passengers in the year to March 2019.

Shares rose jumped 2.1pc to €16.41 in London, valuing the airline at €18.6bn.
