Gujarat to begin wheat purchases on Apr 27

In a main reduction for the wheat growers in Gujarat, the Condition federal government on Tuesday announced graduation of wheat procurement from April 27.

“Wheat procurement will be done by the godowns of Condition Civil Materials Corporation. The procured wheat will be stored in 219 godowns of the Civil Materials Corporation.

Kumar reported that so much 29,122 farmers have registered for participation. Gujarat has reported overall wheat cultivation on 13.95 lakh hectares for the rabi season ending February 2020, about 73 for each cent increased than 8.07 lakh hectares reported previous year.

Higher MSP

In its 3rd sophisticated estimate for 2019-20, the Gujarat federal government set an estimate of 40.36 lakh tonnes (lt) of wheat output, which is up by sixty seven for each cent from 24.07 lt approximated for previous year (2018-19). The Centre has fixed the MSP for wheat at ₹1,925 for each quintal, ₹85 increased than previous year.

“The farmers will be intimated by an SMS about their change for procurement. Push for water storage

The Condition federal government has also announced ‘Sujalam Sufalam Jal Abhiyan’, a desilting drive for ponds and rivers in the Condition to enrich the water storage and conservation capacities of the reservoirs.

“The drive will get started immediately and will carry on till June ten. This will include all ponds, checkdams, bandharas, rivers and other styles of reservoirs at village and town level. It will have participation from MNREGA personnel, community participation and departmental involvement for deepening these reservoirs,” reported Kumar, adding that farmers will not demand to pay back royalty expenses to get the soil dug out from the reservoirs for their fields.

The transfer is aimed at making work at rural concentrations, provide fertile soil to farmers and enrich the State’s reservoir storage capacities before the monsoon sets in.
