The Sale 13 of Coonoor Tea Trade Affiliation (CTTA), scheduled for March 26 and 27, was held on Monday (April 20) as the places of work of CTTA, broker and warehouses have been closed following the nationwide lockdown.
The sale mirrored buoyancy in tea trade with as much ninety three.18 for each cent of the present currently being offered against 64.04 for each cent in Sale twelve irrespective of the typical price tag increasing substantially to ₹92.08 a kg from ₹ eighty two.32 in the earlier Sale.
Homedale Estate’s Broken Pekoe grade, auctioned by World Tea Brokers, topped the auctions when Tea Services India Pvt Ltd purchased it for ₹ 300 a kg.
In the CTC Dust tea auction, Homedale’s Pink Dust grade, auctioned by World Tea Brokers, topped at ₹280. These two grades surpassed the charges fetched by any other tea, CTC or orthodox, from any manufacturing unit, company or purchased leaf in this auction.
In the CTC Leaf auctions, two grades of Pinewood teas fetched ₹ 211 and ₹ 204. Among orthodox teas, Chamraj and Kodanad teas topped just about every fetching ₹ 241 followed by three grades of Glendale at ₹221, ₹211 and ₹206 and Havukal ₹205.
In all, 11.91 lakh kg was offered against eight.53 lakh kg in the earlier sale. With a greater quantity currently being offered at bigger typical price tag, the general earnings rose to ₹10.ninety seven crore from ₹7.02 crore. This marked an enhance of ₹ 3.95 crore or a whopping 56.27 for each cent.
